Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News

Sterling Heights, Michigan

Detroit Newspaper Partnership, L.P. manages the business operations of the Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News, including production, advertising and circulation. Gannett Co, Inc., owner of the Detroit Free Press, is the general partner in the Detroit Newspaper Partnership and MediaNews Group, owner of The Detroit News, is the limited partner. The two newspapers currently publish separate editions Monday through Friday and combined editions on Saturday and Sunday. Both newspapers can also be accessed at their respective websites, detnews.com and freep.com. The New Detroit Newspaper Partnership (DNP) production facility is where over 570,000 copies of The Detroit News and the Detroit Free Press are now produced daily.

 
That's in addition to the plant's Sunday press runs, which exceed 720,000 copies and are printed in sections on three separate days then combined for the final product.

The News Tribune Company

Jefferson City, Missouri

The News Tribune Company, publisher of the leading dailies and weeklies in Missouri's capital city, went on edition with its new manroland UNISET 75. The press is the centerpiece of an all-new $14 million production facility.

The News Tribune Company serves the state's capital with three publications. The Sunday News Tribune has a paid circulation of 24,041. The News Tribune is published weekday afternoons and Saturday mornings, with a circulation of 17,351. And the Daily Capital News is a morning paper that reaches 2,388 paying readers. The company also prints the Fulton Sun, a five-days-a-week daily newspaper, with a circulation of 4,087 and the weekly California Democrat with 3,613 subscribers, extending its coverage of central Missouri.

The News-Sentinel serves a daily circulation of 125,000 and a Sunday circulation of 175,000 with two new REGIOMAN web offset presses. The paper has surrounded the printing systems with a new 180,000 sq ft downtown headquarters. Operations Manager Ted Milligan guides us through the facility.

The Daily Herald is Chicago’s largest suburban newspaper with a circulation of over 150,000.
