Maximum series flexibility. For a tailor-made configuration, the COLORMAN offers different printing units that can be individually used with one another. No customer wishes are left unfulfilled with flexible combinations. 9-cylinder satellite design. Advantages: maximum register accuracy and stability, high efficiency, and high-quality productions with the integrated UV dryer. 8-cylinder blanket-to-blanket design. Advantages: heatset applications, straight web lead, multiple-web printing.

4-1, 4-2, or 6-2 cylinder design. Advantages: individual, customized configuration options that cover the respective production range as efficiently as possible.

High variability. With individual web widths, web width variability*, and extensive web lead variants, the COLORMAN offers the ideal solution for any job. From double- and triple-width folder superstructures to three former levels and modular turner bar units, the COLORMAN’s versatility has no limits.

Hybrid printing quality. Expand your product diversity and combine your newspaper production with high-quality hybrid products. Our heatset or UV equipment offers you everything you need. 2:5:5 folder. The large-scale pin-type jaw folder system in cylinder ratio of 2:5:5 is designed for a high number of pages – up to 112 broadsheet pages or 224 tabloid pages. Folder equipment* such as quarter fold, gluing, and stitching, provides the technical basis for a large value-added depth in inline production. Other jaw folders in cylinder ratios of 2:3:3* and 4:7:7* are also available as alternatives.

4-1, 4-2, or 6-2 cylinder design. 8- to 24-page printing systems with state-of-the-art drive technology were developed to meet particularly high productivity demands in industrial newspaper production. In comparison to other presses, the COLORMAN 4-1 offers significant savings potentialfor plate costs. Of course, this also reduces change-over time. Moreover, the books can contain varied numbers of pages and can be staggered in two-page jumps. The COLORMAN is also the right choice for collect production and high page capacities. 6-2 additionally saves on components, operation, maintenance, and energy.

Fully automatic plate change*. APL®* (AutomaticPlateLoading) is an innovative system from manroland that reduces plate change times to a minimum. For the first time robot technology is implemented in the printing industry: The APL® uses a robot arm with a positioning accuracy of 0.01 millimeters and enables individual and complete plate change in just three minutes. Ergonomic, integral system solutions are now feasible.

High degree of automation. Extensive automation options* reduce waste, shorten makeready times, and lead to lower staff expenditures, leaving you more time to concentrate on printing. These include a shaftless drive as a basis for independent printing unit makeready processes, the fastest automatic webbing-up device on the market at 50 meters per minute, QuickStart, and the full integration of additional components in the PECOM control. Last but not least, our patented, fully automatic washing device for cleaning the satellite and blanket cylinders and the rollers.

Extraordinary design. Who’s who in printing techniques? The COLORMAN’s features speak for themselves: fundamental advantages of the satellite design include small distances between the print nips, ensuring fanout-free printing and uncompromising register accuracy without control systems. Control points in the blanket-to-blanket system provide an especially high degree of register quality. Heatset and UV configurations expand the quality and product spectrum. Printing quality results can be further perfected by a third form roller, three tempered ink vibrator rollers, and segmented ink blades.

ClosedLoop control systems*. manroland has developed high-quality ClosedLoop control systems for color and cut-off register, ink density, and web tension. These systems reliably provide constant quality and ensure low waste.

printnet and PECOM control. Mechatronic automation, part of the printnet family, encompasses all aspects of electronics, electrics, mechanics, and software relating to the press. The result is a user-friendly and modular network in your company, with the press and PECOM system at the core.
